Bagheera boat trip

Landing residents on the Bagheera boat trip

Saturday, September 2nd. A beautiful sunny afternoon and what better way to spend it than sitting back and enjoying Bristol Floating Harbour waterside.

About 50 residents climbed onboard the “Bagheera” moored alongside Trin Mills and set off down the river to Avonmouth. Lots of familiar faces and some new introductions.

We had the boat to ourselves and a most interesting commentary from Harry. It was exciting waiting to go through the lock and to have other boats bobbing alongside us. We learned about a lot of the history of the docks and how it had developed over the centuries. On the way home, we saw where traders had to leave their gunpowder before entering the city.

The Residents Association provided us with delicious cakes and tea and, as usual during our social get-togethers, there was plenty of chatting and camaraderie.
